32 Weeks (Only 8 to go!!)

Your pregnancy: 32 weeks

How your baby's growing:

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

And the belly... getting huge. Yikes!

31 Weeks

Sorry this is so late, I should have a new post for 32 weeks in 2 days! But, I had some friends in town visiting this week and I'll do a post on that shortly. In the meantime, enjoy reading about me and baby at 31 weeks.

Your pregnancy: 31 weeks

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

What an amazing weekend.  I can't begin to tell you all how much this weekend meant to me.  It was so nice to be home and be around friends and family.  Our little one has never had so many touches and kisses as she did this weekend, it's so nice for her to know how loved she really is.  I'm so sad to be back and missing you all already, but again thanks so much to everyone for your love and support, you'll never know how much it truly means to Mike and I.  Here are a few pics from the showers, can't wait to see you all again soon.  I can't believe the next time I see most of you I'll be a mom- yikes!

Easter and 30 Weeks...

My brother, Ryan finally moved out to NYC last week and Mike and I were so excited to spend Easter weekend with Ry and Sarah and go visit CJ, Kari and the girls. On Saturday, we went to go pick up Ry and Sarah in Manhattan and then drove up to CJ's in New Jersey. It was great to spend time with family and celebrate Easter. Of course we wish all of our family could be closer and could have been there with us, but it really was so great to be with them. I can't wait to spend more time in the Big Apple with Ryan and Sarah- I think they'll make great babysitters!

Sitting down for our amazing meal prepared by Kari - Kari you are the best cook ever, you really have a true calling in life, to be a chef. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Our attempt at a hike to the lake...

About 50 feet in, Hannah "needed" to get in the backpack because she was too tired to walk. About 75 feet in, she needed a snack - her Peeps from the Easter Bunny.

And it was just too cold, so that's about as far as we made it...

And here's a cute picture of Mo :)

Your pregnancy: 30 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

See what your baby looks like this week.

Belly pic of the week... I can't believe it, we've made it to 30 weeks, it seemed so far away not too long ago! 75% baked, 25% to go!!!

29 Weeks

Your pregnancy: 29 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Jessica Visits NYC

My dear old friend Jessica is finally tying the knot with her long time beau (and when I say long time, I mean 11 years.) They are getting married in August in Colorado and I can't wait for the big day. I'm a bridesmaid and I want to be involved in and help plan the shower and bachelorette party so badly, but because of the timing with the pregnancy and all, there's not a whole lot I can do. So, we brought the bachelorette party to the East Coast! Jessica and her bridesmaids flew out for the weekend and we lived it up, NY style. I think Mike was actually happy to have me gone for the weekend, so he could stay at home and focus on studying for that big Level 3 CFA coming up!

Her friend, Shannon hailing a cab for the first and only time. (The cab waved back at her and kept driving only to pick someone up 20 yards passed us :( Needless to say, I did the cab hailing after that.)

Dinner at Tao

Jess at Mama Mia

It was so fun, none of them had ever been to NY before, so we stuck to a lot of the touristy must sees and enjoyed our time strolling the city.

Checking out the Statue of Liberty (outside of our hotel)

Amazing Sunday at Central Park

In front of the rink of course...

Our photo shoot on the hill in the park with flowers...

I'm not sure this came through, but we're supposed to be tigers. Umm... yah.

This is the shot where I realized I had sat in mud. Apparently Jess thought it was funny.

It was so great to see Jess again... Jess, I miss you so much- you are truly an amazing friend and I am so lucky to have you in my life. I miss you already, can't wait for the big wedding day! xoxo

28 Weeks

Your pregnancy: 28 weeks

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

And the belly, I think it really grew a ton this week :)

And even a front shot for you :)
